THE CREATOR SAID: GO AHEAD.

Same little hero.
Your next chapter.

CircuitFoxes made Datakin. We made two new routes, with permission to share the edited game. Take one further with your own AI.

01 / DISCOVERY

A safe path. A tempting detour.

Continuous ground, optional upper rewards, two enemies and a midpoint checkpoint. The upper platforms leave headroom over the lower route.

02 / CHALLENGE

Same idea. Three gaps.

Three short ground gaps and four enemies change the risk. Keep the reward routes—or let your AI move them somewhere new.

Play Challenge →
INTERNAL DEMONSTRATION · NOT AN OUTSIDE CREATOR RETURN

Returned.
Ready for the next change.

A small, reproducible example of source retrieval, level adaptation, private return and separate curator approval. Not an independent creator submission or automatic game mashup.

Uses the existing v3 internal example: Training title becomes INTERNAL QA and the first optional pickup moves eight pixels right. Geometry, checkpoint and exit are unchanged; the other 16 slots are preserved.

Original by CircuitFoxes. Level editing only; engine/art/music retain creator terms. A private brief was inspected, then separately approved in source control. Marking reviewed alone never publishes.

ONE PERSON’S REMIX IS THE NEXT PERSON’S START.

Add one thing.
Pass it on.

Ask your own assistant: “Add an optional upper reward route to Relay Discovery. Keep the ground path safe, preserve the checkpoint and exit, then build and test a separate ROM.”

Extract once. The workshop folder is ready. Python 3.10+ only; no account or extra packages. Try the clearly labelled internal example:
python remix_next.py relay-discovery.gba.gz example-route.json My-Relay.gba

Kit hashes and complete file list

  1. Take the actual base. The kit has the permitted edited cartridge, both JSON layouts, complete MIT workshop source and our rebuild helper.
  2. Change the route. Python 3.10+ and its standard library are enough. The helper checks the base hash, validates your layout and preserves the other 16 stages.
  3. Play your version. Build a separate GBA ROM. Record what you tested, what changed and anything still broken.
  4. Bring it back. Send a source/build link for private review, or send your JSON link and test notes for help packaging it. Keep CircuitFoxes’ credit and original link.

This opens level design, not Datakin’s full engine. Engine code, art and music are not MIT-licensed here. The original workshop UI needs the original unmodified game; our helper works directly from the permitted Relay base.

CircuitFoxes permitted redistribution of edited ROMs with a link back. Their game engine, artwork and music retain their own rights. The workshop and our new route geometry are MIT; the separate emulator is MPL-2.0.

What actually changed?

Two alternative Training-stage layouts: geometry, pickups, checkpoint, enemies and cache placement. No new engine mechanics, characters, music or art. The other 16 stage records remain unchanged.

What has been checked?

Exact ROM integrity, route validation and patch/readback. Desktop Chrome boot, entry into the remixed Training stage, movement and jumping. Full completion, mobile gameplay and an independent creator remix remain unverified.
