Foundry Crosswind

Three related factory-and-defence challenges for Mindustry v160.7. Build supply lines, feed your defences and keep the core alive through 12 assaults.

Not browser play, a standalone game or a finished quality flagship. You need a trusted Mindustry v160.7 installation. This download contains only maps, authoring source, licence and guides—not the engine, Java or game assets. It is not certified beginner-friendly.

What changes between scenarios?

  1. Copper Spine: one western ground approach; remote coal supplies graphite artillery.
  2. Split Supply: a second ground approach, with the same ground-enemy totals. Protect the exposed northern supply route or consider a longer route.
  3. Crosswind: the same terrain as Split Supply, with some ground attackers replaced by air units on assaults 6, 9 and 12.

Actual results, including failures

Local native QA, 1 November 2026. No injected resources or reduced difficulty. Long pauses, inspection and maintenance are not evidence of easy play.

Copper Spine: ordinary-resource play, failure, save/reload and restart observed. The fresh terminal core outcome is unconfirmed; an older checkpoint continuation supports only a qualified survival inference.
Split Supply: a fresh run cleared all 12 assaults, with 184 kills and a saved surviving core at 443 HP. Heavy maintenance: 405 destroyed structures. The longer southern-route comparison was not played.
Crosswind: the fresh run lost after assault 10. A separate continuation from a genuine assault-9 checkpoint, with repaired feeds, ordinary cover and verified ammunition, cleared all 175 enemies and saved the core at 684 HP. That is an assisted checkpoint continuation, not a fresh pass. It ended with 342 destroyed structures.

Import and edit

  1. Extract the ZIP. In Mindustry, choose Editor → Import Map and select one native-maps/*.msav file at a time.
  2. Use Play → Custom Game → Survival with the authored rules. Space pauses; WASD moves the core unit. Read the guide before building. Clear 12 assaults with the core alive; a new Custom Game restarts.
  3. Keep parents unchanged. Set a unique map title before saving a fork: saving an existing custom title can overwrite it without another confirmation.
  4. Keep GPL source, credits, parent hashes and the change/test record. Export the editable map under a new filename. The existing return form accepts public source/build references for private review—not native-file uploads or automatic publication.

All three exact maps imported and started in a fresh local profile, then saved before combat at wave 1 with core 1100 HP, 400 copper and 120 lead. A separate one-tile editor test was exported, imported into a second fresh profile and started successfully. This proves bounded serialization/delivery, not a meaningful new gameplay remix.

Editor credit-display limitation: Map Info strips newlines from the Author field. A semicolon preserves separation in metadata, but long text still clips onscreen. Check exported credits and keep the full accompanying credit/source text. The supplied original maps are unchanged.

A meaningful logistics fork: Mesa Cut

Foundry 1R: Mesa Cut opens 52 wall cells through Split Supply’s central mesa (x95–120, y50–51), creating a third coal route. All ores, starting resources, waves and raw rules remain unchanged. Enemy routes may change; combat balance and safety are untested.

Assistant-operated ordinary construction in a clean second profile moved mined coal through the passage, converted it into graphite and delivered 5 graphite to the core before assault 1. Independent source/save review confirmed the change and resource accounting. This is functional logistics evidence—not a survival result or novice acceptance.

The ZIP includes the editable map, GPL licence, change patch, full credits and a precise construction guide. Its small Python 3 standard-library transformer uses the unchanged parent pack to reproduce the exact tested map and editable JSON. A second clean reconstruction matched both hashes. No engine, new dependency installation or evidence bundle is included.

Integrity, credits and limits

ZIP SHA-256: dd2767b7fecea92d39ec2b17d1f8b386bc02cd2cd21ce839cee8876c515a9a5a. Start with README.md; import the .msav through Editor → Import Map. Python is needed only to reconstruct, not to import.

Mindustry: Anuken and contributors. Scenario, fork and reconstruction: Game Commons. GPL-3.0-or-later; preserve parent source, credits and changes. This is not browser play, a conversational editor, beginner certification or independent human acceptance. The reference-only return form accepts public HTTPS source/build links for private review, not native-file uploads or automatic publication. The separate MIT-only HTML intake is incompatible with GPL/native files.

Credits and source

Mindustry: Anuken and contributors.
Scenario design, source and guides: Game Commons. Authored source/data retain GPL-3.0-or-later; no MIT relabelling. The package contains its GPL text and regeneration source. No engine binary or stock texture/audio bundle is redistributed.

Tested engine source: Mindustry commit 17012d61d9e4c3cbd9820d87e81c24495486ac53. This is a separate pin from the older general Mindustry catalogue source reference. Official installers remain at the creator's releases; latest may differ from v160.7.

Still unverified

Independent novice play, full fresh acceptance of every scenario, comprehensive mid-assault retention/restart, controller, multiplayer, cross-platform installation and performance benchmarks. Audio initialization failed in cloud QA. A conversational remix editor and general native contribution service are not supplied.
